Taking time away from watching Painter throw interceptions to post a link. This is something I have been waiting for…a chipped football.
From the article: “The league is reportedly in discussions with Cairos Technologies, a German manufacturer that specializes in micro-tracking systems, about how chips could be implanted in official NFL game balls. It’s an intriguing idea that would surely cut down on some measure of human error, but for football traditionalists it’ll be another bit of ammo for the argument that expanded tech is fouling up the sport’s integrity.”
How many times have we been given a bad spot? How many times have we yelled pointlessly at the television screen because the DHZs* shorted us some serious ground? How many drives has this killed? Maybe this is the solution.
The downside, though, is that we will no longer benefit from blown calls, but I for one would be willing to sacrifice that in order to have a truly level playing field. But that’s just my opinion. Other football heads may disagree, or course. But they’d be wrong.
Okay, back to the painful Painter show. Going to be long pre-season….
